We put our house up for sale the end of April, and since then we have had several showings for our house. Well on this particular day, we had a showing right before dinner time, so I packed up the kids threw in a few laundry baskets of odds and ends around the house and left to the hospital to meet Nate for dinner. Well we didn't quite make it to the hospital when we were rear ended by a huge truck! We were driving on the freeway and ended up slowing down because of a few cars in front of us were slowing down. The truck slammed on his breaks but couldnt stop fast enough and rear ended us. This made my life a lot more complicated. The last day of school was tomorrow and we were leaving on a three week vacation in three days with a busted up van!!! Nate met us at the scene and took us back to the hospital to eat dinner. The impact from the truck shattered our rear window sending shards of glass through out the van, the kids were freaked out and scared, but thankfully everyone was fine. Not even a scratch.
Our car ended up being totalled, after feeling sorry for myself for a bit, I realized how blessed we were. Hank and Kennedy were in the very back and if the truck would have been going much faster he hit the kids and may or may not sent us to the hospital for other reasons then just to eat dinner. We were really lucky that day, the truck was so big that the majority of the glass flew onto his hood of the car instead of in our car, so we were so lucky to only have some glass and not a scratch on us. I am incredibly grateful for my 4 children and that they are still safe and unharmed from this crazy event.
The rest of the week was park days, family bike rides and preparing to leave on vacation.
Hank and James are best buddies!
The hardest was saying goodbye to our dear friends the Richmond's, we have known them since the first week we moved here and our kids just love their kids! They are moving to South Dakota and hopefully we will be able to see them soon.
Addy learning as the 4th child she has to hide her snacks if she doesn't want to share.
Cooper has been reading the Harry Potter books and loves them! He just finished book 3 and wanted to have a party before we left for vacation! Him and our neighbor Wyatt have become very good friends~
