Nate gets 3 weeks off every year starting July- July
So since we really didn't have much time when we moved here before Nate started we decided this vacation would be a stay-cation at home.
Last week we were spoiled with having Nate home with us and tried to fit in as much as possible.
Tuesday Nate spent the day in the Smokies hiking 14.5 miles
The next few days were spent Cooper/Daddy date (a different post for that), cleaning out and organizing our garage!
Hanging our with Hank and myself while Coop was at school,we were able to go on a fun bike ride just the three of us and experienced our first bike wreck.
A guy on his bike ran into Nate (he was pulling Hank in the stroller) and totally landed on Hank. Thank goodness Hank was wearing his Helmet and no one was hurt. Unfortunantly Nates bike wheel was a little banged up and my bike stroller will need a few repairs, but hey no one was hurt.
On Saturday after Nate finished most of his honey do list we headed up to Ashville, NC for the day. We wanted to hike to the top of Mount Mitchell (highest point in NC) but when we got to the park the gate to the road was closed. So we parked our car and walked up the road for a while enjoying the beautiful fall day.
After our hike, we made a stop at REI then met up with our friends Mike and Megan for some dinner and were able to meet the newest member of their family, their adorable Lab Ollie. Unfortunantly I didn't get any pictures, but the boys loved him, they have been begging for a puppy for a while now and this just made them want one more. I have to admit I want one too, but I am not ready for the commitment. This week came and went way too fast, but we were so glad to have dad around for a bit!
