March 13,2014
We had our c-section scheduled for March 17, for about 2 months before the date. On March 6th I had a Dr. appointment I was dilated to a 2 nothing serious, but instead of seeing me in a week, my Dr. wanted to see me earlier then that just to make sure I wasn't dilated any more. So the soonest appointment I could get was March 12th. Well that weekend March 7 -9 I was having alot of contractions and swore I was going to have this baby sooner then the 17th.
The 12th could not come soon enough. As the doctor was checking me out that day, he said well are you ready to have this baby tomorrow? Tomorrow! Oh OK, I was dilated to a 4 and 70% effaced. My Dr. was on call Thursday and knew we couldn't wait till the 17th. Since it was a c-section he didn't want me going into labor on my own, since that would result in an emergency c-section (which are not fun especially with how much scar tissue I have). After the appointment I went and met with Nate and shared the news that we were having a baby tomorrow, just to make things a little complicated for him, he was on 24hr. call that night, Karlene was coming Thursday night, but not until midnight and of course Cooper had school and I needed to find a place for the kids Thursday all day and night. So I rushed around all Wednesday afternoon/evening packing my bag and bags for the kids. We dropped the kids off at our friends the Cruzes Thursday morning at 5 am and to the hospital we went!
While they hooked me up to a monitor and as I visited with the doctors about the surgery, I was having contractions like crazy, so I am pretty sure if I didn't go in, I would have been having that baby no matter what.
The most exciting thing was we didn't know if we were having a boy or girl. It was so awesome when the doctor pulled out our little baby and the anticipation was so strong by then. When he said its a.......
GIRL
7lbs 3oz
20.5 in. long
And how sweet she is! At first we decided if it was a girl her name would be Elliot and if it was a boy his name would be Maxwell.
Well Nate has never been to excited about Elliot so we settled on Addison, which we both loved! But it took us 4 days to finally decide on her name.
Later that afternoon, Nate picked up Cooper from school and Hank and Kennedy from Cally's so they could see the new baby!
It was love at first sight! They all loved her.
Kennedy who I was a little nervous about, shocked us all, she was so soft and so excited to see the baby. She kept saying "awwww baby!" Just wanting to hold her and sit by her the whole time they were there.
Nate let the kids be with us for a bit, then he took them to our friends the Cupps house for the night.
And it was mommy and daddy time with the little miss.
