Marathon #6

April 18, 2015 I met up with my friend Ashley to run the Nashville Marathon. She usually runs the half and I run the full. I have ran Nashville before in a down pour so I was hoping this race would be different with a different finish time. Well it was different alright, and definitely with a different time.
About 5 days before the race I came down with a terrible cough and cold. I was trying everything to make it go away, I went to bed early, I just really wanted to perform to my best ability. As we started the race I told Ashley see you later, I wouldnt have been able to catch up with her as it was anyway, so off she went leaving me to my misery. The race was HARD! I was coughing, trying to catch my breath, and blowing snot out my nose the entire race. I tried not to worry about time, and tried to carry on conversation with other people, but running with a terrible cold is not recommended.
Around 4:00 hours I finally crossed the finish line. It was a tough race, but I am so glad I made it. My family plays a HUGE part in my racing, thanks to my wonderful husband who supports my training, even when he hasn't seen me all week. Training for a marathon with 4 kids and a husband in Residency isn't an easy task, so I am so grateful for my patient family who allow me to do something I love. It wasn't a PR, but I will be doing a lot more because this is what I love!
