Camping and Fireflies

June 1-2 we went camping in the Smokies with some friends, the reason for this particular weekend was all for the fireflies. They come once a year during mating season, where they synchronize their lights and there are hundreds of them. It gives a much better explanation Here about the event. But only once a year and only 2 places in the world this happens. Here in the Smokies and somewhere in Asia. It is seriously indescribably, and amazing!  We went up Friday afternoon set up camp and hung out until dusk, then we hiked up to where we could see the fireflies. I could seriously watch them for hours. The kids on the other hand thought it was cool for a few minutes. After the event we went back down had some yummy dessert and went to bed.
I found this picture online, we tried to capture it with our cameras but we couldn't, as cool as this picture is you still have to be there to see it.
